Assistant MEP Construction Manager – Data Centre Project (Client Side)

Are you looking to take the next step in your MEP career with a leading client-side project team? We’re seeking a driven Assistant MEP Construction Manager to support the delivery of a major data centre project in London.

The Role

As Assistant MEP Construction Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the client’s project management team in overseeing the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) delivery across all stages of construction. You’ll work closely with the main contractor, design consultants, and commissioning teams to ensure technical excellence, programme adherence, and high-quality delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior MEP Construction Manager in managing and coordinating all MEP activities on site.
  • Support review of MEP design, installation, testing and commissioning documentation.
  • Monitor contractor progress, quality and compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Attend daily site meetings and interface with construction and design teams.
  • Help manage technical submittals, RFIs and change control processes.
  • Support QA/QC processes and assist in handover documentation.
  • Contribute to risk management and project reporting activities.

About You

  • Degree or trade background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or Construction Management.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in MEP coordination or construction management, ideally on mission-critical, pharmaceutical, or large commercial projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, sequencing, and commissioning.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Client-facing experience or exposure to client-side roles advantageous.
