We are working with a prestigious international law firm to hire a Conflicts Lawyer in London. In this role, you will be embedded within the General Counsel team, serving as a critical specialist for complex new business intake and providing expert legal advice on conflict-related matters across the firm’s global network.
The firm is looking for a qualified lawyer with significant experience in conflict resolution within a UK legal risk function and a proven background in people management.
The responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the primary escalation point for the Business Acceptance Team to resolve complex legal and commercial conflicts of interest.
- Providing expert guidance to Partners and senior stakeholders on risks associated with new instructions and existing business.
- Designing and implementing bespoke conflicts training programmes for the wider firm to promote a robust risk management culture.
- Managing and mentoring junior team members, acting as a professional role model and supporting their ongoing career development.
- Collaborating with the COLP to update and maintain regulatory policies and governance procedures.
- Advising senior operational leaders, including those in Business Operations and HR, on conflict and broader risk issues.
- Championing process improvements and embracing new technologies to enhance the efficiency of the conflict checking function.
- Assisting with internal reviews, investigations, and assurance processes to ensure the firm meets its regulatory obligations.
