We are working with an elite global law firm to hire a Compliance Advisor in London. In this role, you will manage the firm's global risk exposure and advise partners on the selection and clearance of new clients and matters across multiple international jurisdictions.

The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor or an experienced risk specialist with a background in a highly regarded commercial or international law firm and comprehensive knowledge of the ethical rules impacting global legal practices. They are looking for candidates with exceptional research capabilities and a sound, broad knowledge of legal risk frameworks.

The responsibilities will include:

  • Analysing and identifying intricate conflict of interest and client confidentiality issues for prospective and current instructions.
  • Designing and implementing strategic solutions to resolve compliance barriers, including drafting consent letters and establishing robust information barriers.
  • Conducting detailed due diligence, sanctions screening, and reputational risk assessments on new clients and matters.
  • Performing ongoing monitoring of existing client relationships in line with global anti-money laundering policies.
  • Serving as a technical escalation point for junior compliance analysts within the business acceptance team.
  • Advising partners and fee earners at all levels of seniority on the interpretation of relevant financial crime legislation and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assisting with the development, monitoring, and auditing of firm-wide compliance procedures to ensure cross-border consistency.
  • Delivering interactive training sessions on emerging risk issues to promote a strong compliance culture across the wider firm.
