We are working with a global law firm to hire a Business Acceptance Analyst into their Risk team in London.
In this role you will manage the organisation's risks regarding conflicts, customer due diligence, and use of client account, working closely with senior compliance leadership to ensure full regulatory alignment.
The firm is looking for an analyst with ideally a minimum of 1 year of previous experience handling anti-money laundering and conflicts matters within a law firm environment.
Candidates must demonstrate a working knowledge of the SRA Code of Conduct, UK anti-money laundering regulations, sanctions regimes, and complex corporate structures.
The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with a commercial, solutions-focused approach and the confident communication abilities required to engage effectively with partners across the business.
The responsibilities will include
- Executing comprehensive conflict searches, identifying confidentiality issues, and resolving or escalating matters in line with regulatory rules.
- Identifying and verifying new clients, analysing source of wealth and complex ownership structures, and conducting ongoing risk monitoring.
- Screening for politically exposed persons, sanctions connections, and wider reputational or regulatory risks.
- Determining customer due diligence requirements, reviewing documentation, and approving new matter openings within firm management software.
- Assisting internal finance teams with client account queries to ensure compliance with professional accounting regulations.
- Advising fee earners on compliance obligations and delivering risk management induction training to new joiners across the business.
- Implementing information barriers, conducting partner file compliance audits, and maintaining central client data accuracy.
- Supporting departmental management with ad-hoc project work and risk framework enhancements as required.
