We are working with a prestigious international firm to hire a Senior Conflicts Analyst for their London office. In this role you will work closely with the Business Acceptance function on the identification, substantive analysis, and resolution of ethical and commercial conflicts, alongside the regulatory compliance matters that sit alongside them.
The firm is looking for a specialist with a degree or equivalent qualification and at least 3 years experience in US conflicts. Candidates must demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applying both ABA and SRA professional conduct rules, coupled with excellent analytical and critical thinking skills. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional attention to detail with the communication skills and confidence necessary to exercise sound judgement and engage effectively with senior partners on complex, high-stakes matters.
The responsibilities will include:
- Owning the full conflicts search process, assessing intricate issues, and drafting or reviewing the supporting documentation that underpins it.
- Acting as a key liaison between UK partners and the US compliance team to support the resolution of matters under international regulatory rules.
- Conducting substantive analysis of search results in line with professional conduct guidelines and proposing clear, pragmatic resolutions.
- Reviewing both standard and non-standard engagement letters, as well as drafting conflict waivers and consents as required.
- Identifying when information barriers and ethical walls are required, preparing the necessary supporting documentation, and escalating matters appropriately.
- Working in strict accordance with the firm's global policies, domestic requirements, and statutory regulations from day one.
