We are working with a highly regarded Top 100 City law firm to hire a Risk & Compliance Lawyer in London. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Risk & Compliance Director to provide comprehensive legal and regulatory advice firmwide, ensuring the highest standards of professional conduct are maintained.
The firm is looking for a qualified solicitor with significant experience in law firm risk and compliance who is comfortable advising senior partners and legal stakeholders on complex ethical issues.
The responsibilities will include:
- Providing front-line guidance to partners and lawyers on a wide range of regulatory and professional conduct matters.
- Assisting with professional indemnity insurance reviews and renewals, including reporting claims and circumstances to insurers.
- Supporting the firm’s COLP in recording and investigating complaints and managing the process through to resolution.
- Drafting and advising on firm-wide risk and compliance policies to ensure they remain aligned with the SRA Handbook and latest legislation.
- Managing the annual central audit process and acting as a primary liaison for external accreditors.
- Reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, including terms of engagement, outside counsel guidelines, and supplier agreements.
- Handling routine data protection enquiries and assisting the Data Protection Partner with breach management.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory developments to proactively initiate necessary changes to internal procedures.
