We are working with a leading law firm to hire an AML and Financial Crime Manager for their team.

In this role, you will oversee the organisation's compliance, regulatory, and financial crime framework, advising senior stakeholders and helping the firm navigate complex regulatory requirements.

The firm is looking for an experienced compliance specialist with strong knowledge of UK anti-money laundering legislation and proven expertise advising on complex due diligence, ideally gained within professional services, financial institutions, or a regulatory body.

Candidates must demonstrate experience using data, analytics, or technology solutions to enhance compliance processes, alongside the ability to translate technical requirements into practical business advice.

The ideal candidate will combine strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with a proactive approach to risk assessment, policy development, and continuous operational improvement.

The responsibilities will include

  • Serving as a trusted adviser on money laundering, sanctions, and broader economic crime matters, including source of wealth and beneficial ownership structures.
  • Reviewing and evaluating client due diligence, political exposure, and adverse media findings across the business to provide clear recommendations.
  • Maintaining the central financial crime risk register, monitoring regulatory developments, and presenting key risk insights to governance committees.
  • Drafting, updating, and reviewing compliance policies and control frameworks to ensure ongoing operational effectiveness and audit readiness.
  • Designing and delivering interactive training programs, workshops, and awareness materials for legal and business services personnel.
  • Leveraging data, analytics, and innovative technology solutions to streamline risk assessment and due diligence workflows.
  • Mentoring colleagues and fostering a collaborative culture of continuous development, compliance awareness, and operational excellence.
