We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. This role involves operating 18-tonne lorries on routes between Ireland and the UK, including multiple ferry crossings and overnight stays. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver who is comfortable with long-distance transport and varied working hours, and who is willing to assist with occasional manual duties when required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently between Ireland and the UK. Drivers typically complete 12 trips per week, with working hours varying depending on schedules and route requirements. Experience driving in Central London would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Please note that this role involves regular overnight stays away from home and multiple ferry crossings per week, so flexibility and reliability are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Operate an 18-tonne HGV vehicle safely and in accordance with transport regulations
- Transport goods between Ireland and the UK
- Complete ferry crossings and overnight trips as part of scheduled routes
- Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle is maintained in safe working condition
- Complete required delivery documentation and digital records
- Assist with manual handling and loading/unloading when required
- Ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and company policies
- Category C (Class 2) driving licence required
- Valid Driver CPC required
- Digital Tachograph Card required
- Minimum 2 years driving experience preferred
- Ability to work flexibly and stay away from home when required
- Professional, reliable and responsible approach to work
