AJ Connect are working with a Public Sector organisation who are looking to recruit a Clerk of Works to join the commercial property team. The role will initially be a 6-month contract which is likely to be extended or even made permanent for the right candidate. As a Clerk of Works, you will work closely with the Senior Clerk of Works to deliver multiple commercial projects across the east Glasgow area. The role will be inside IR35.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Conducting frequent site inspections to check the progress of multi-trades building works
- Reviewing technical design concepts during the outline design and detailed design phases
- Assisting with weekly written progress reports and attending progress meetings
- Proactive communication with the contractor to detect possible problems and monitor the construction process
- Ensuring that the Contractor fulfils the contractual obligations
- Complying with Health & Safety and relevant legislation
What you’ll need to succeed:
- An SVQ Level 3/HNC/Apprenticeship or equivalent in a construction-related subject
- Relevant site/contractor supervision or Clerk of Works experience
- It is preferable to be a member of the Institute of Clerks of Works – not essential
- Good communication skills and able to build and maintain relationships on site
- Experience with renovation of commercial projects
- Driving licence
