The predicted salary is between 24 - 26 £ per hour.

AJ Connect are working with a Public Sector organisation who are looking to recruit an Electrical Clerk of Works to join the commercial property team. The role will initially be a 6-month contract which is likely to be extended or even made permanent for the right candidate.

As a Clerk of Works, you will work closely with the Senior Clerk of Works to deliver multiple commercial projects across the east Glasgow area. The role will be inside IR35.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Supervise and be accountable for electrical work on Building Contracts carried out on-site by Private Contractors to ensure that procedures are followed, and that specification and workmanship standards are met on commercial projects.
  • Liaise with the Team Leader/Contract Administrator and provide regular written and verbal progress reports.
  • Check Dayworks provided by contractors to ensure that all items are correct.
  • Coordinate work on site with the Contractor's foreman/site manager.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed in accordance with the contract papers and the requirements of the 18th Edition of the Institute of Electrical Engineer Regulations.
  • Comply with Health & Safety and relevant legislation.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • A working knowledge and comprehension of the 18th Edition of the Institute of Electrical Engineering Regulations.
  • An SVQ Level 3/HNC/Apprenticeship or equivalent in a construction-related subject.
  • Relevant site/contractor supervision or Clerk of Works experience.
  • It is preferable to be a member of the Institute of Clerks of Works – not essential.
  • Good communication skills and able to build and maintain relationships on site.
  • Experience with rewiring of commercial projects.
  • Driving licence.
