We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sous Chef/Senior Chef De Partie to join our kitchen team and help us continue to provide fantastic meals for our guests. We serve classic pub favourites with a modern twist, using locally-sourced ingredients and a focus on exceptional customer service. Job Summary: As the Sous Chef, you will be the right hand to the Head Chef, responsible for overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, and managing a team of kitchen staff. You will play a key role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring that every dish is prepared to the highest standards. The role requires a motivated and adaptable individual with a passion for food and a commitment to excellent service. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Head Chef in creating, developing, and refining the menu. • Supervise and lead kitchen staff, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen. • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest quality standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines. • Manage food preparation and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and stocked in accordance with health and safety standards. • Monitor and maintain kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards. • Help train, mentor, and develop junior kitchen staff, promoting a positive work environment. • Ensure stock levels are maintained, assisting with stock rotation and ordering of supplies. • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure timely food delivery and customer satisfaction. • Assist in managing kitchen schedules, ensuring appropriate staffing levels for busy shifts. • Handle food wastage control and maintain accurate food costing records. • Step up to cover the Head Chef role in their absence, ensuring that the kitchen continues to run smoothly. Skills & Experience: • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a pub or restaurant environment. • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and health regulations. • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, especially during busy periods. • A passion for food and creativity, with a desire to continuously improve. • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team. • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
