Parkhill Care Home is inviting applications for a Senior Care Assistant to join our residential care home team in Millbrook, Stalybridge. AJ Care Group Ltd provides residential care and personal care for adults aged 65+, including people living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities and personal care needs.
About the role
We are looking for a caring, reliable and professional Senior Care Assistant who can provide high-quality personal care, help lead shifts and support junior staff in a respectful and safe way.
Main responsibilities
- Provide personal care and practical support in line with care plans and residents’ preferences
- Help lead shift tasks, handovers, work allocation and communication with the senior person in charge
- Observe residents’ wellbeing and report changes, concerns or incidents promptly
- Maintain daily records, charts and care documentation accurately
- Assist with medication only where trained, authorised and assessed as competent
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in care, support, healthcare or another role involving direct support to adults, with some responsibility for guiding others or leading tasks
- Basic knowledge of person-centred care, safeguarding, moving and handling, infection prevention and record keeping
- Able to communicate well, lead by example and organise shift priorities
- A Level 2 or Level 3 adult care qualification, dementia experience or previous senior carer experience would be beneficial but is not essential where the right values and transferable experience can be shown
