At AJ Bell Touch, we are developing a next-generation investment platform aimed at improving how consumers access financial advice and manage their investments. We are looking for a motivated and experienced manual tester who is ready to take the next step in their career. Our team culture is built on collaboration, with a strong emphasis on working together to achieve our goals. Our mobile-first app allows advisers to manage their clients' investments entirely through their smartphones. What you'll do:
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand and interpret business, functional and technical requirements, working as a team ensure testing activities are aligned with project goals and timelines
- Work as part of a distributed team made up of self-motivated and collaborative individuals. Much of our communication is remote and async so good communication skills are key.
- Embrace a shift-left approach to testing, engaging at all stages of the SDLC, baking in QA and a quality first approach to our deliveries.
- Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases and test outcome reports.
- Continuously improve the testing process by identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices.
- Work closely with our feature owners, often helping to demonstrate new processes and functionality to the operational users and being an SME for any UAT related activities.
What you'll have:
- Strong analytical skills. The ability to analyse requirements and build simple but effective test cases
- Attention to detail / problem solving mindset, you are proactive in identifying issues and providing solutions during the testing process.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate issues and statuses to various stakeholders.
- You can handle multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A solid understanding of manual testing techniques, including functional, regression, exploratory, and usability testing.
- You can think from the end-user's perspective to ensure a high-quality user experience.
- You'll have some understanding of SQL, testing APIs and possibly some test automation knowledge.
- You'll be comfortable with writing test cases in the BDD Given, When, Then format
- ISTQB/ISEB Foundation certificate in Testing
- Experience working in the financial services industry or financial services adjacent industries.
