We’re looking for an Assistant Company Secretary to support our expanding Company Secretarial function. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking, collaborative team and play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our Board, Executive Committee and sub-committees.
You\’ll be working in a maturing function where your ideas, initiative and governance knowledge will truly make a difference.
What does the job involve?
You’ll be supporting the day-to-day operations of the Company Secretarial team, including:
- Preparing agendas, meeting packs and management information for Board and committee meetings
- Attending meetings and drafting detailed, high-quality minutes
- Supporting the scheduling of meetings and maintaining annual agendas
- Monitoring action logs, effectiveness reviews and follow-ups
- Helping deliver governance and compliance obligations including MAR, Listing Rules, and Company Law
- Drafting governance sections of the Annual Report and supporting AGM preparation
- Maintaining statutory registers and submitting filings to Companies House
- Supporting the induction and training of new Board and Executive Committee members
- Assisting with internal governance policies, our share dealing code, and insider list management
You’ll also work closely with key departments including HR, Compliance and Finance, supporting projects such as incentive schemes and the Senior Managers & Certification Regime.
What we\’re looking for:
- Part or fully qualified ICSA/CGI (preferred, but not essential)
- Proven experience in a company secretarial or corporate governance role (ideally 5+ years)
- Experience in a listed and/or financial services environment is an advantage
- Excellent agenda setting and minute-taking skills
- Confident working with electronic board portals
- Strong understanding of company law, listing rules, and governance best practice
- Highly organised, detail-focused and discreet with confidential information
- Skilled communicator with experience working across all levels of a business
