To further our expansion, we are now recruiting for a Senior UX Designer to play a prominent role in our Advised UX Team, producing designs for our award-winning platforms. Reporting directly to the Lead UX Designer, you will provide senior-level design expertise across our AJ Bell Touch platform.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of 7 years experience in UX, ideally with a background in financial services. You’ll have a strong passion for solving complex problems and the ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders. The AJ Bell Touch platform is in its early stages and newly launched to the market. This role will focus on responding to user feedback, developing core functionality, and creatively exploring new features that differentiate the platform from competitors. You will play a key role in shaping the product’s evolution, designing with the future of financial advice in mind and ensuring the platform remains dynamic, adaptable, and scalable as it grows.

Over time, you’ll take ownership of AJ Bell Touch’s experience, shaping its future and becoming a trusted expert that others look to for guidance and leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Design leadership: Help lead the strategic planning of design initiatives, aligning design efforts with broader business goals. Play a key role in shaping our overall design strategy, influencing decision-making at senior levels.
  • Creativity: You can effectively demonstrate your expertise in creating seamless user experiences across both desktop and mobile.
  • Remain hands on in design: You will be an expert in your craft, designing every day and leading by example.
  • Design Systems: You have extensive knowledge in creating and maintaining components in a Figma library, bringing creative ideas to help iteration, contributing extensively to the development of our design guidelines and component libraries.
  • Collaboration: You are able to collaborate with anyone and will play a key role in building and nurturing team collaboration.
  • Decision making: You can make informed and strategic decisions in the design process, balancing user needs, business considerations and creative goals.
  • Research: You can illustrate skills in designing and overseeing comprehensive usability testing processes, utilising both quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • You can effectively communicate design ideas, rationales and strategies clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
  • You will be an advocate for UX in the wider business looking for opportunities to showcase UX.
  • You will be able to inspire and motivate team members providing mentorship and guidance.
