Aizen Recruitment is hiring a Senior Project Manager on behalf of a confidential client to lead the end-to-end delivery of high-impact IT initiatives. You will own planning, execution, governance, risk, and stakeholder management across a small portfolio of concurrent projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.

Location: Remote (UK/EU time zones)

Contract: Temporary, with potential renewal (full-time)

Engagement: Via Limited Company only

Compensation: £60,000–£65,000 per annum (pro-rated to contract length), DOE

Start: ASAP

What You’ll Do

  • Own the full lifecycle (initiation → planning → execution → closure) for one or more IT projects.
  • Plan & govern: Create integrated plans (scope, schedule, cost, resources), RAID logs, dependency maps, and change-control processes.
  • Budget & forecasting: Build bottoms-up budgets, track burn vs. forecast, and manage variance with corrective actions.
  • Delivery management: Run stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retros; coordinate cross-functional squads (engineering, design, data, QA, security, operations).
  • Progress & reporting: Define KPIs/OKRs, maintain dashboards, produce executive status reports, and escalate blockers early.
  • Risk & issue management: Proactively identify, quantify, mitigate, and own critical risks/issues with clear owners and deadlines.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Map stakeholders, run steering committees, align priorities, and manage expectations across business and technology.
  • Quality & readiness: Oversee testing plans (SIT/UAT), cut-over/runbooks, release governance, and post-go-live hypercare.
  • Vendor management: Coordinate external partners/SIs, manage SoWs, and track deliverables to contract.
  • Benefits realisation: Define success metrics and ensure projects deliver the intended business outcomes.

30/60/90 Day Success Outcomes

  • 30 days: Project charter, governance cadence, risk register, baseline plan & budget approved; stakeholder map and comms plan in place.
  • 60 days: Execution on track with visible burn-down/burn-up; top risks actively mitigated; first deliverables shipped or UAT complete.
  • 90 days: Key milestones met within agreed tolerances; adoption/change plans executed; post-implementation review and benefits tracking underway.

Profile Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years in a Senior Project Manager role delivering complex, multi-team initiatives.
  • Demonstrated delivery in Agile and Waterfall (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, hybrid).
  • Strong stakeholder management, executive communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Hands-on with Jira or Asana (and ideally Confluence or equivalent).
  • Evidence of managing budgets, dependencies, and distributed teams.

Nice to Have

  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
  • Sector experience in IT or finance (e.g., platforms, cloud, data, security, payments, regulatory).
  • Familiarity with SDLC/DevOps practices, CI/CD, and modern cloud environments.

Tools & Environment (typical)

  • Jira, Confluence, Asana, MS Project, Miro, O365/Google Workspace, Slack/Teams; exposure to modern engineering and QA practices.
