As a UX Intern, you’ll contribute to designing the next generation of enterprise software that improves how engineers work in the energy industry, supporting a product used by thousands globally!
What you will really be doing:
- Collating user research, analytics, and business logic to generate insights and shape a problem space.
- Shape the solution space with the design team by creating, presenting, and maturing design concepts.
- Own delivery and quality of the concepts through to implementation.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team, including project managers, data engineers, software engineers, and subject matter experts to collectively shape what makes a difference to engineers’ day to day.
- Contribute to our team culture and help improve processes, even for future interns.
How you will be doing this:
- You’ll be part of the design team where you’ll collaborate with other designers and bring your own creative input into new and existing features.
- Your tasks will be prioritized in line with the product’s goals, allowing you to contribute meaningfully.
- We don’t do things just because they’ve always been done that way, but we don’t ignore the lessons learned either – meaning you’ll play an active role in driving improvements and shaping innovation in both the product and the design and development process.
Where you will be doing this: Aberdeen, Scotland
What you will be working on:
Over the 12-week internship, you’ll get hands-on experience working with our design team, helping us define, design & deliver on user experiences, interface patterns, new behaviours and more. You’ll be involved in the whole spectrum of the design process that spans different forms of visualisation such as a mark-up canvas, 3D viewer, and the UI layer.
Team: At Aize, you’ll be part of a collaborative, team-driven environment, working with modern technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with the design team and, depending on where your interests lie within the product, also work alongside a multidisciplinary team composed of product managers and developers.
Grounded, human, and unstoppable are the values that guide our day-to-day. If they resonate with you, we’d love to hear from you.
Who we think you are:
- Final-year student in HCI, UX, or Design — or a recent graduate ready to get hands-on experience.
- Comfortable working in tools like Figma, FigJam, or Miro.
- Curious and iterative in your design approach, able to break down problems and clearly present your thinking to a team.
- Detail-oriented, with care for craft and user experience.
- Familiarity with coding is a plus as we’re excited about the growing shift toward “design engineers.”
- Exposure to 3D visualization, mark-up canvases, data visualization, digital twins, or software design is a plus, but not required.
Please note that we’re unfortunately unable to sponsor visas for the duration of the internship. This is a great opportunity to dive into the world of user experience, work across a variety of visual modalities and shape how engineers work in the energy industry!
