A growing, medium-sized care provider operating across the North of England is seeking a hands-on, commercially driven Head of Sales & Marketing to play a pivotal role in its next stage of expansion. With ambitious plans to double in size over the next 3–5 years, this is a key leadership appointment focused on driving occupancy, strengthening market presence, and building a high-performing sales and marketing function across the group.
The Role
This is not a purely strategic position. It is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role requiring regular travel across the portfolio and close partnership with Home Managers and regional teams. You will take ownership of the organisation’s sales and marketing performance, ensuring consistent occupancy growth and commercial excellence across all services.
- Driving occupancy growth across all homes within the portfolio
- Developing and embedding a clear, practical sales and marketing strategy aligned to growth plans
- Working closely day-to-day with Home Managers to support local occupancy performance
- Leading, coaching, and developing Business Development and marketing teams
- Regular on-site presence across services to support performance, quality of enquiry handling, and conversion rates
- Building and maintaining strong referral relationships with local authorities, NHS partners, and private pay clients
- Strengthening brand presence and reputation across regional markets
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities to support expansion plans
- Using data and insight to track performance and drive continuous improvement
The Person
You will likely bring:
- Senior experience in sales, marketing, or commercial leadership within the care sector (or closely aligned healthcare environment)
- A proven track record of delivering occupancy and revenue growth across multi-site operations
- Experience working directly with Home Managers and operational teams
- Strong commercial acumen with a hands-on, operational approach
- Excellent relationship-building skills across internal and external stakeholders
- A visible leadership style with the ability to influence at all levels and be present in services
