We are working with a leading elderly care provider who are seeking an experienced Commissioning General Manager to take full operational responsibility for the setup and opening of a brand-new, high-quality care home in Dundee. This is a key leadership appointment, responsible for driving the service from pre-opening through to stabilisation, embedding strong operational foundations, building occupancy, and ensuring full regulatory compliance from day one.

The Role

  • Leading the full commissioning process from build completion through to opening and operational maturity
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and developing a high-performing care and support team
  • Driving occupancy growth through effective local networking and stakeholder engagement
  • Ensuring full compliance with CQC standards (and relevant Scottish regulatory requirements where applicable) and preparing the service for inspection
  • Establishing robust clinical, operational, and quality governance frameworks
  • Working closely with senior leadership to ensure a successful and sustainable launch
  • Embedding a strong, person-centred culture across the service

About You

  • We are looking for an experienced leader who can take full ownership of a new service. You will likely have:
  • Previous experience as a Home Manager or Commissioning Manager within elderly care
  • A proven track record of opening or stabilising care homes or similar services
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on occupancy and sustainability
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory compliance standards
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and motivate teams from scratch
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
