AIXTRON is a world leading manufacturer of semiconductor equipment and the AIXTRON Ltd facility in Cambridgeshire manufactures key Metal Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition (MOCVD) systems for the Group.

The Role

As a key member of a multi-disciplinary team within our modern Engineering department, the Technical Project Manager will coordinate design activities related to the development of next-generation MOCVD products.

You will be responsible for the entire project planning, ensuring that the product specifications are met, ensuring that all documentation is completed meeting the relevant market requirements whilst supporting with the generation and review of these design-related documents.

Your Responsibilities

  • Act as a Technical lead and coordinate all engineering activities related to product development, utilizing AIXTRON’s established Product Development Processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including the parent company in Germany to ensure alignment and efficient project execution occasional travel required
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise in product design and development.
  • Oversee the application of cutting-edge engineering solutions to enhance product performance and efficiency
  • Ensure that all engineering outputs adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitate rigorous testing protocols and validation of new developments

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, MS Project).
  • Experience with ISO 9001 processes.
  • Demonstrated - Supervisory and/or Project Management experience
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing engineering teams
  • Accurate, thorough, consistent, pro-active, assertive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners
  • Proficient in project management tools and methodologies
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • 3D CAD design
  • Jira/Confluence
  • Material science
  • Vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, and automation
  • Use of simulation tools (FEA etc)
  • Experience in Design for Manufacture and in use of ERP systems (SAP) preferred
  • Professional registration with a relevant engineering body is encouraged
