As part of a multi-disciplined team and a modern Engineering department, this role involves the continuous improvement of the Company’s world leading products through leading-edge mechanical design.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be expected to implement effective mechanical design solutions to ensure the companies MOCVD systems remain at the forefront of technology.
Your Responsibilities
- Mechanical design of the Company’s bespoke special purpose scientific equipment.
- Under the guidance of principal engineers they will provide detailed designs for sub-systems and components.
- You will adopt the working practices of a modern engineering office and a company wide quality system.
- Responsible for adhering to standards that AIXTRON Ltd set to ensure safety at work, which includes following procedures, handling machinery and substances correctly, and participating in any safety training required.

Your Profile
- Engineering degree in a mechanical discipline or equivalent qualification/experience (minimum HNC + experience)
- Practical background, ideally apprenticeship based
- 3D CAD design experience (preferably Creo)
- Microsoft office capable (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Experience in material science would be beneficial.
- Experience in vacuum systems, pneumatics, gas systems, automation an advantage.
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP) desirable
- Professional registration with a relevant Engineering body encouraged and preferred.
