We are looking for a Lead Technical Business Analyst to join our cutting-edge fintech company, Aiviq, a SaaS platform that empowers global asset managers with data-driven insights and innovative technology solutions.
What you will be doing
- Technical Problem Solving & Data Architecture
- Apply extensive business and product knowledge to refine technical problem statements and solve complex data challenges without assistance.
- Take responsibility for specific areas of Aiviq’s data architecture, acting as the owner of the logical data model for your domain.
- Complete advanced data modelling and specification tasks, demonstrating extensive domain and technical expertise.
- Lead the design and implementation of Enterprise Master Data Management capabilities, ensuring data quality and consistency across the platform.
- Express complex business requirements comprehensively, owning refinement of non-standard requests or new product features.
- Translate sophisticated concepts into understandable language and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills to negotiate and build consensus.
- Data Analysis & Documentation
- Demonstrate full data literacy, drawing meaningful conclusions from data quickly for any purpose, leveraging both traditional analytical methods and AI-assisted tools.
- Take accountability for functional specification design and drive improvements to increase documentation standards across the product team.
- Demonstrate advanced SQL and BI skills, alongside deep knowledge of Aiviq’s data stack (Azure, SQL, ADF, DevOps).
- Demonstrate knowledge of existing and emerging data technologies, including AI/ML capabilities within modern data platforms, and principles of good systems and data design.
- Provide oversight of data analysis and data strategy across teams for migrations, upgrades and non-standard changes.
- Product Development Lifecycle
- Own stories through the entire SDLC lifecycle and post-release, ensuring quality from conception to production.
- Provide oversight and ultimate accountability for quality of user stories and acceptance criteria in line with data and product standards.
- Act as technical escalation point for delivery risks impacting product quality and timelines.
- Provide authoritative guidance on expected product behaviour across various scenarios to development and QA teams.
- Maintain functional specifications that describe in explicit terms how our systems work, using concrete examples.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Own test outcomes, considering all scenarios and behaviours and providing domain expertise for QA teams.
- Design and execute advanced database level test, migration or configuration scripts with limited supervision.
- Provide product testing sign-off on complex stories, ensuring they meet business acceptance criteria.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives regarding testing approach, coverage and release management, working with QA to implement changes.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership
- Communicate skillfully with the Aiviq leadership team and technical counterparts at client organisations.
- Coach and lead other product team members, sharing knowledge and elevating team capabilities.
- Act as a valued and active voice in development teams, contributing to continuous improvement of products and processes.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of agile delivery methodologies and confidently deputise for Product Owner within Scrum teams where required.
What you will need
- At least 5 years experience in a business analyst or data analyst role, either within a financial services organisation, consultancy, or (ideally) SaaS/B2B product business.
- Strong experience with asset management or financial services, with preference for candidates who have worked in industry, vendor, or consulting capacity.
- Advanced SQL skills and proficiency with BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
- Deep technical knowledge of data technologies, particularly Azure, SQL Server, ADF, and DevOps.
- Proven experience with data modelling, data architecture, and Master Data Management concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical problems independently.
- Active adoption of AI tools and workflows to enhance productivity, analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Desirable Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Master’s preferred.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development, including qualifications and courses in Business Analysis and Data Management domains.
- Structured qualifications in Business Analysis (e.g., BCS, APMG).
- Evidence of delivery portfolio including prior delivery achievements and technical problems solved.
