We’re a global team of over 400 people, working together to push the boundaries of open-source technology and multi-cloud solutions.
Our vision is to help developers, builders, and creators bring their ideas to life with speed and simplicity, by providing a cloud data platform that makes open-source databases, search, streaming, and application infrastructure easily accessible to everyone.
Role Overview
Aiven is hiring a Senior PMM to own our AI go-to-market.
You'll set the narrative for why enterprises building AI workloads should standardize on managed, open source data tools, and work closely with customers, Aiven partners, and the go-to-market organization to evangelize our story.
This requires a deep understanding of the evolving AI and data infrastructure space and the key players within it.
In this role you’ll work closely with Aiven execs and product, marketing, and engineering leadership
- Core Responsibilities
- Define and drive Aiven's overarching AI vision and narrative, articulating the value of standardizing on open source data tools managed by Aiven for enterprise AI workloads.
- Lead the creation of high-impact product marketing materials (e. g., website copy, sales enablement, keynote presentations) focused on our AI-enabling data services.
- Partner closely with the executive team and product leaders to shape the AI product roadmap, bridging market needs with technical requirements at the intersection of open source, multi-cloud, and AI.
- Conduct comprehensive market and competitive analysis specifically for the AI/ML data infrastructure space to identify key opportunities and threats.
- Own and execute major product launches and GTM campaigns related to new AI capabilities and services.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive enablement strategy, ensuring the field, partners, and customers are equipped with the technical and commercial knowledge on how, where, and when to leverage Aiven for AI.
- Serve as a key spokesperson for Aiven’s AI story in high-profile webinars, industry events, and interactions with press and analysts.
- Must-Have Qualifications
- 6+ years in B2B product marketing, ideally in cloud, data infrastructure, or open source
- You've built a narrative around AI before, not just helped with one, and you can explain the choices you made
- You understand how cloud and AI business models work and can articulate the challenges that companies face trying to build AI-ready systems
- Prior experience marketing a managed service or product built on an open source project (e. g., Kafka, Postgre SQL, Open Search, Clickhouse).
- Strong writer who can make technical ideas readable without dumbing them down or defaulting to AI.
- That said, you should absolutely know how to use generative AI tools to become more efficient at your job.
- You can operate in a high-growth, fast-paced environment and drive cross-functional projects, including with executive leadership.
- Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience in market analysis and competitive intelligence gathering.
- Masterclass level presentation and storytelling skills. We use Google Slides a lot here.
- Comfortable with remote work and a decent amount of travel.
AI Usage
Aiven does not use AI to screen and/or select applicants.
However, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your AI proficiency during the live challenge stage of our interview process.
