The Strategic Tender Manager may be based in any of our European locations. As a Strategic Tender Manager at AIT, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the international tender process from initiation to completion. You will work closely with various departments, including sales, operations, and legal, to develop competitive and strategic tender proposals that align with the company's objectives and contribute to its growth and success. The role also involves analyzing spend data to identify anomalies, trends, and opportunities for cost reduction.
Responsibilities:- Manage the Tender network life cycle: Preparation and Planning: Lead the tender process, ensuring thorough review of all necessary documents (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs), and manage key milestones, delivery, and execution.
- Develop and manage tender outputs that are usable, accessible, transferable, and adaptable for Sales Representatives and Branches.
- Ensure Scope of Service objectives are clearly defined and understood.
- Maintain transparency in global network pricing across all modes, enabling stakeholders and sales teams to sell competitively.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as sales, finance, legal, and subject matter experts to gather information for tender submissions.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to protect the company's interests.
- Represent the company in negotiations with clients or government agencies and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
- Lead the development and writing of high-quality tender proposals that meet requirements and effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
- Identify opportunities and develop solutions to challenges within the supply chain network, improving lead times and supporting sales growth.
- Ensure all tender submissions comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct win/loss analysis to identify areas for improvement and inform future strategies.
- Support internal teams to maintain high performance and share ongoing process improvements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel) and Power BI (intermediate level preferred).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Understanding of value-led solution selling and the ability to inspire others.
- Minimum of 7 yearsβ experience in the logistics and supply chain environment.
- Excellent math skills with accuracy in pricing by segment and cost analysis.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written; additional major international languages are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including proficiency with digital communication tools (Zoom, Teams, email, phone) and presentation skills.
