The Global Engine Manager – Aerospace is responsible for leading global aerospace engine logistics programs, ensuring consistent execution, operational excellence, and standardized processes across all regions. As the global subject matter expert for aircraft engine logistics, this individual will support customer onboarding, RFQs, solution design, and complex operational requirements while partnering with Commercial, Operations, and Shared Services teams worldwide. This is a hybrid role with global responsibility and can be based out of one of AIT Worldwide Logistics' European locations.
Responsibilities
- Global Engine Program Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding of new aerospace engine programs
- Serve as the global SME for engine logistics, including handling, compliance, and service requirements
- Provide oversight of global engine operations across all regions and stations
- Quoting & Commercial Support
- Support global quoting operations for aerospace engine opportunities
- Ensure standardized pricing approach, cost modeling, and margin alignment
- Partner with Commercial teams to develop competitive and executable solutions
- Provide technical expertise during RFQs, bids, and customer discussions
- Process Standardization & Governance
- Develop and implement global SOPs, procedures, and work instructions
- Drive standardization across engine handling processes, documentation requirements, and operational workflows
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and customer-specific requirements
- Maintain and continuously update global process documentation
- Operational Oversight & Execution
- Monitor execution of engine shipments across air, ground, and charter solutions / AOG and critical shipment scenarios
- Ensure alignment to service expectations, timelines, and customer SLAs
- Act as escalation point for complex operational issues
- Coordinate with Control Towers and regional teams to ensure execution discipline
- Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Establish KPIs for engine operations (e.g., on-time delivery, exception rate, cycle time)
- Drive visibility through reporting, dashboards, and governance routines
- Identify process gaps and implement corrective actions
- Lead initiatives to improve service quality, efficiency, and customer experience
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Commercial, Sales, Global Operations, BPO & Shared Services, IT, and Data teams
- Align global processes with system capabilities (e.g., CargoWise, tracking platforms)
- Support implementation teams during new customer onboarding
Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in aerospace or high-value logistics operations
- Strong knowledge of aerospace engine handling, AOG operations, and airfreight and charter solutions
- Experience with global operations and multi-region coordination
- Proven track record in process standardization and operational governance
- Strong commercial acumen (pricing, quoting, customer solutions)
- Experience working with TMS platforms (e.g., CargoWise) is preferred
