As one of the UK's leading suppliers of nationwide 2 and 1 person Assisted ‘White Glove' Home Delivery Services, we are always on the lookout for fantastic people to join our expanding teams. We are recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to join our team at Panther. In this role you will control our transport function, interfacing and communicating between our depots to ensure timely transport operations, leading to first class service to our customers.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Complete a running log throughout shift.
- Ensure all transport tasks are carried out and completed in accordance with daily transport plan.
- Supervise the transport night operation.
- Conduct spot checks on departing vehicles from site.
- Ensure the inspection log is completed.
- Control trailer movements and log their destination/location.
- Communicate with depots and provide regular updates on progress/problems with trucking vehicles.
- Ensure vehicles/trailers are loaded to capacity prior to departure.
- Carry out vehicle downloads as required/identified by Transport Manager.
- Ensure all trunk vehicles depart on time.
- Monitor driver infringements.
- Conduct license checks.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is willing to take on board new commitments/responsibilities as and when required.
- Can conduct additional ad hoc duties as required.
- Has good IT, administration and communication skills.
- Has a flexible attitude.
- Has previous experience in a Transport role (essential).
- Is a self-starter (ability to work unsupervised).
- Can prioritise and work under pressure.
- Has excellent prioritisation skills.
- Has excellent communication skills.
- Understands current Road Transport Legislation and digital tachographs.
- Holds a Transport Management CPC (desirable but not essential).
