Our alumni work at Anthropic, Deep Mind, the UK AI Safety Institute, and dozens of other organisations shaping how transformative technologies affect the world.

If you're not sure which role is right for you, just apply for the one that feels closest.
We'll figure out which is the best fit together.
We might hire for one or both roles depending on the applicant pool.## **Why this role matters**We're about to grow fast.
We’ve doubled over the past 4 months.
Over the next 12 months, we'll scale from 7 to 25 people.
At this size and pace, every hire we make will directly shape our culture and the work we can do.
A bad hire will cost us months.
A great hire will scale the number of people we can train and place into the field.
This is a hands-on execution role.
You'll be in the weeds every day: sourcing candidates, managing pipelines, coordinating interviews, and making sure no great candidate slips through the cracks because we were too slow.
You'll report to and work closely with Dewi, Blue Dot's CEO.## **What you’ll do****Source candidates relentlessly*** Map the AI safety, biosecurity, and startup talent landscape with an eye to finding exceptional people* Engage and build relationships with people who aren't actively looking for a new role**Run a fast, tight hiring process*** Own candidate communication and scheduling end-to-end* Keep people moving through the pipeline, solve bottlenecks, chase feedback* Manage our ATS (Ashby) so the team always has a clear picture of where every candidate stands**Help to close candidates*** Prepare briefings for the team on how they can support with closing* Tailor the pitch for top candidates based on what you've learned about their motivations and needs**Build our employer brand*** Write job descriptions, social media posts, and other content that makes Blue Dot visible and exciting to great talent* Strengthen relationships with talent-dense communities, universities, and networks in the AI safety ecosystem## About you We're looking for someone sharp and high-agency who’s energised to help scale a mission-driven startup.
You might be a great fit if you:* **Have good judgement about people.** You can quickly and accurately tell who will thrive in a high-agency, mission-driven startup, and who won't.* **Write well.** Your comms are concise, actionable, and human (we receive *so many* AI-generated applications).* **Execute at speed.** You feel a visceral urgency to fill Blue Dot with great talent.
Every day a person spends sitting in our hiring pipeline increases the risk that we lose them.
You iterate quickly to find what works best.* **Care about the mission.** You understand why AI safety and pandemic preparedness matter, and you're keen to learn more.
You know that scaling Blue Dot is essential for helping us protect humanity.* **Can sell the mission.** You understand what motivates different types of people and how to pitch Blue Dot as their best option.
You're persuasive, charismatic and credible.
Prior recruiting experience is a plus but isn't required.
We care more about raw ability, speed, and taste for talent rather than years on the job.
We encourage speculative applications, most strong candidates won't meet all these criteria.## **What we offer*** **Massive impact:** Every exceptional person you hire directly impacts Blue Dot’s ability to scale the AI safety workforce.* **San Francisco-based role:** This is an in-person role in our new SF office starting in Q2 2026.
US visa sponsorship available.* **Freedom and autonomy:** Our expense policy is "act in Blue Dot's best interest", unlimited PTO, minimal bureaucracy.* **$120–180k salary** depending on experience, 10% employer 401(k) contribution (no match required), and comprehensive health insurance.## **Apply today**Applying takes 20-30 minutes, and we encourage you to **apply as soon as possible**.
We're evaluating candidates on a rolling basis and want to make an offer quickly.
