CRP Subsea is looking for a Product Group Engineering Lead to support our Engineering Team in Skelmersdale.

What will you do as our Product Group Engineering Lead:

  • Support the Engineering Team Manager to provide design engineering cover across the Business Group and across CRP when necessary.
  • The deployment of critical strategic objectives agreed with the Engineering Team Manager within your engineering team.
  • Ensure appropriate engineering reviews, design verification activities, and risk assessments are completed in accordance with company procedures.
  • Manage performance, objectives, and development plans for engineers within the product group.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews.
  • Identify training and competency development requirements.
  • Support succession planning and talent development activities.
  • The day-to-day supervision of all engineering resources within your engineering team, recognising their development needs and implementing plans for improvement.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of all engineering activities within the designated product group, ensuring quality, schedule, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Plan and prioritise engineering resources to meet project and operational demands, escalating capacity risks where necessary.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for all issues encountered within your engineering team.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and prevailing business regulations.
  • Perform design engineering activities within Design Engineering on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ensure that all products are designed in accordance with customer requirements, company practice and recognised engineering standards.
  • Improve product design methods and procedures.
  • Lead departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Generate technical presentations for either internal or external purposes.
  • Ensure information in drawings and documentation is both correct and complete.
  • Provide technical support for products associated with the Business Group activities.
  • Provide technical support relating to production plant and equipment if required.
  • Assist in the communication of technical data to Customers and sub-contractors.
  • Interface with Supply Chain and Operations as required.
  • Support and participate in company-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Support the Business Group in the process of winning new work.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and accountable team culture.
  • Support recruitment and onboarding activities where required.
  • Other appropriate activities as defined by the Business Group management.

  • Previous experience leading or supervising technical teams.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience working with design reviews, engineering change processes, and product lifecycle management.
  • Experience working with customers and suppliers.
  • Minimum 5-10 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or other similar discipline (BEng (hons) or MEng (hons) or equivalent).
