AIS are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our sales team focusing our ContraFlex® range.

What will you do as our Business Development Manager:

  • Promote the ContraFlex® product range to key stakeholders in the OEM market segment across the UK (with potential for global expansion), including procurement and supply chain teams, designers, technical engineers, work‑pack engineers and project engineers/managers.
  • Act as the face of AIS for key OEM accounts and work to replicate our existing agreements with similar OEM customers.
  • Work with companies in the data centre market and high temperature exhaust aftercare market (SCR) requiring ContraFlex® insulation and PFP, collaborating closely with the wider group.
  • Identify and develop new markets and applications for ContraFlex® products, including new customers and new uses.
  • Work alongside Sales Engineers to ensure that tenders and quotations are prepared and submitted in the most competitive and compelling way to secure business for AIS.
  • Develop and maintain an up‑to‑date customer database in Membrain CRM, ensuring all clients are managed effectively to maximise business opportunities.
  • Plan and schedule sales activity and client visits to maximise coverage in a cost‑effective way.
  • This role is field based with regular travel to customer sites across the UK.
  • Use CRM prospecting tools to build relationships, understand customer needs and estimate potential annual spend on ContraFlex® products for each site, supporting accurate budgeting and forecasting.
  • Prepare and deliver professional presentations on AIS products and services to a range of technical and commercial audiences.
  • Maintain accurate sales activity records and prepare and submit regular sales reports.
  • Proactively follow up on actions arising from sales reports, meetings and opportunities to ensure timely progress and closure.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market conditions, feeding back insights and recommending actions to strengthen AIS’s market position.
  • Keep abreast of product development, supporting the introduction of new products and the improvement of existing ones to maximise AIS’s competitive advantage.

What are we looking for in our Business Development Manager:

  • A solid foundation in technical sales, preferably in the insulation industry, cooling / heating, power generation or related sector.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and follow up actions accordingly.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • A confident, assertive and proactive approach to work with a ‘can do’ flexible attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively, both as part of a team and autonomously, consistently to high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage credibly with technical and commercial stakeholders.
