AIS are looking for a talented Business Development Manager to promote and expand the sale of the Company’s Battery Testing Services to existing and potential customers in the automotive, aerospace, wider transportation sectors along with grid, renewable and special project markets. This is a remote-based role with requirement to travel to specific locations.

What will you do as our Business Development Manager?

  • Promote the battery testing services to key stakeholders from procurement, managers, technical and engineers.
  • Promote the battery testing services to influencers and government groups including funders and wider associated trade bodies.
  • Seek new potential markets for our battery testing services and deliver presentations to new clients.
  • Work with the General Manager to ensure tenders are responded to in the best manner to secure business for AIS.
  • Prepare and execute sales action plans and strategies for battery testing services along with growth of offering into new consultancy and support services.
  • Develop and maintain a customer database and ensure all clients are managed as required to maximise business opportunity.
  • Use prospecting tools to develop communications with customers and ascertain potential annual spend to drive budgeting/forecasting information for the General Manager.
  • Maintain sales activity records and prepare and submit appropriate sales reports.
  • Monitor services and product development to ensure the introduction of new services/products along with improving existing services/products.
  • Share customer and project information with internal AIS teams for other product ranges with a focus on our battery materials team.

What are we looking for in our Business Development Manager?

  • Previous sales experience within the testing sectors, with good technical knowledge of current testing methods and standards for battery testing.
  • A confident, assertive and proactive approach to work with a ‘can do’, flexible attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively, both as part of a team and autonomously, consistently to high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • The ability to demonstrate high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in clear, written and verbal communication skills in English.
