Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region for a Building Management Systems Engineer. In this role, you will design, install, commission, and maintain building management systems to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively. You will monitor energy performance, diagnose system issues, implement system upgrades, and provide ongoing maintenance to optimize building operations. The role will also involve collaborating with other team members to deliver tailored energy and facility management solutions.

How you will do it

  • Carry out routine BMS service visits
  • Respond to BMS callouts
  • Support maintenance operations team with customer queries
  • When on site: Review site fault tracker and complete any minor tasks where possible
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports on site during the visit
  • Reports to include any recommended improvements to the site
  • Carry out BMS related small works projects
  • When required, attend client meetings and maintain regular client communication
  • Support client and supplier relationships for building improvements

What we are looking for

Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience with BMS systems such Trend, Delta, Johnsons or Tridium (2 out of 4 is essential).
  • Knowledgeable with the above system controls and operation strategies (2 out of 4 is essential).
  • Experience with MCC panels and the ability to understand control panel wiring diagrams
  • Understanding of all varieties of Trend networking – current LAN, Ethernet, BACnet and LonWorks
  • Experience with supervisors such as Trend 963 and/or IQvision software
  • Understanding of mechanical plant operation and control
  • Understanding of electrical systems
  • Desire to learn and support new technologies / alternative control system
  • Confident in IT with working knowledge of all Microsoft packages
  • A self-starter and strong team-player, flexible and able to work effectively without close supervision
  • Excellent written skills and provide reports in a timely manner
