The Opportunity
As an Engineering Manager on the Ledger and Recon Platform team, you will design, build, and scale critical internal ledger and reconciliation systems that underpin Airwallex's global financial operations. You will collaborate closely with finance stakeholders to ensure accuracy, security, and scalability, while driving a high‐performing engineering culture.
What You'll Do
- Lead a high‐performance engineering team, mentoring and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Plan, execute, and deliver engineering projects that meet business objectives and quality standards.
- Act as the liaison between engineering and the finance division, translating accounting requirements into technical specifications.
- Provide technical direction and enforce best practices in software development and architecture, with a focus on financial processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance product efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Ensure all solutions comply with industry data‐security and regulatory standards.
Who You Are
- Proven leader of engineering teams, preferably in fintech or accounting contexts.
- Strong backend engineering background; Java or Kotlin expertise a plus.
- Solid understanding of accrual‐based accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical and financial concepts.
