Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Construction Contracts role based in Central London, Kent & outskirts of London. The Construction Contracts Manager will oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of ductwork and ventilation projects from tender through to final account. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing contract terms
  • Preparing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts
  • Managing variations
  • Ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets and timelines
  • Coordinating with clients, main contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues
  • Managing risks and maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Preparing progress reports
  • Supporting valuations and invoicing
  • Monitoring compliance with health and safety and relevant regulations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of contract and project management processes

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, building services, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferably NVQ L6 & Black CSCS Card.
  • Strong experience in construction contracts management, preferably within M&E, ductwork, or ventilation projects, including managing contracts from tender to final account.
  • Solid knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., JCT or similar), contract law principles, and commercial risk management.
  • Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for construction projects.
  • Advanced skills in negotiation, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication, with the ability to resolve contractual and commercial issues constructively.
  • Competence with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project or construction management software; ability to work accurately with technical and financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
  • Proven ability to work on-site as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and regulatory standards in the UK construction industry.
  • Experience in ductwork, ventilation, or building services sectors is highly desirable.
