Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Construction Contracts role based in Central London, Kent & outskirts of London. The Construction Contracts Manager will oversee the contractual and commercial aspects of ductwork and ventilation projects from tender through to final account. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Reviewing contract terms
- Preparing and negotiating contracts and subcontracts
- Managing variations
- Ensuring projects remain within agreed budgets and timelines
The role involves coordinating with clients, main contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve issues, manage risks, and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. The Construction Contracts Manager will also prepare progress reports, support valuations and invoicing, monitor compliance with health and safety and relevant regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement of contract and project management processes.
Qualifications
- Relevant qualification in engineering, construction management, building services, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferably NVQ L6 & Black CSCS Card.
- Strong experience in construction contracts management, preferably within M&E, ductwork, or ventilation projects, including managing contracts from tender to final account.
- Solid knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., JCT or similar), contract law principles, and commercial risk management.
- Proficiency in project planning, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for construction projects.
- Advanced skills in negotiation, stakeholder management, and client-facing communication, with the ability to resolve contractual and commercial issues constructively.
- Competence with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project or construction management software; ability to work accurately with technical and financial data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear reports and documentation.
- Proven ability to work on-site as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of health and safety requirements and regulatory standards in the UK construction industry.
- Experience in ductwork, ventilation, or building services sectors is highly desirable.
