Airtask Group provides bespoke mission based aviation solutions to Government and Commercial customers. We are currently seeking to recruit a Nominated Person for Ground Operations. In this position you will hold regulatory accountability for the safety, compliance and operational efficiency of our entire ground operations network. This is a full-time role based at our Head Office.
As a key member of the team, the position requires a dedicated, self-motivated individual who has a full appreciation of the need to meet legislative requirements as well as an extremely high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will need the ability to deal with changing requirements, sometimes at short notice as well as work on development of long-term projects.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Regulatory compliance in order to maintain the integrity of our Air Operator Certificate (AOC) regarding all ground operations activities including ground handling, weight and balance and passenger service.
- Supervision of the day to day operations of the Company to ensure effective and efficient performance at all bases.
- Provision of trained and efficient operations staff.
- Overall responsibility of the Company's Flight Time Limitations Scheme currently in force including rostering of all crew.
- Ensuring and maintaining operations office cover for aircraft in flight, and effecting such arrangements as may be necessary for servicing the task, and crew requirements.
- Developing and continually updating ground operations manuals, policies, procedures and relevant sections of the Operations Manual Part A.
- Monitoring the standards of completion of all aircraft documents and aircraft technical logs, in liaison with the Flight Operations Manager.
- Liaison with the Engineering Manager to ensure that all Company aircraft are correctly scheduled for maintenance.
- Management of all subscriptions including navigation and obstacle databases for all Company aircraft required for safe and efficient operations.
- Oversight, preparation and maintenance of Basic Operating Mass data for all company aircraft.
- Promote and embed an active Just Culture across all bases, driving proactive hazard identification, risk mitigation, and lead investigations into ground safety incidents.
- Point of liaison for the CAA Dangerous Goods Office.
It is essential that prospective candidates have the following skills and experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation ground operations, with at least 2 years in a senior management or supervisory capacity.
- In-depth, practical knowledge of all applicable regulations and dangerous goods legislation.
- Must meet all legal prerequisites to be accepted as a Nominated Person by the Civil Aviation Authority.
