SAVE THE DATE: 16th September 2026, 8.30 – 13:00 - Engineering Sponsored Reservist Experience Day! We are delighted to be hosting our Engineering Sponsored Reservist (SR) Experience Day later this year. If you are interested in becoming an SR Technician, or SR Licensed B1/B2 Aircraft Engineer, we are offering you the unique opportunity to visit us at RAF Brize Norton and gain an insight into the life of an SR and learn more about AirTanker, who we are, and what we do.

This event will include a tour of our two-bay Hangar and Voyager aircraft, and the opportunity to speak with some of our current Sponsored Reservists over lunch on us. Our CEO & Director of Maintenance and Engineering will also provide an insight on the future of AirTanker. This event is open to existing Technicians & Licensed B1/B2 Engineers that would like to find out more about life as an SR at AirTanker.

What you'll be doing

Being an SR is different to being in the RAF Reserves. Instead of being involved in weekday and weekend training or being deployed as a unit to support Regular Armed Forces, you will be deployed to various locations throughout the year, solely in support of Voyager operations. As an SR, when not required at deployed locations, you will continue in your civilian role with AirTanker.

To qualify for SR status you must be British, Irish, part of the Commonwealth or hold a Dual British Citizenship, be medically and dentally fit, and maintain a required fitness level.

If you would like further information on SR opportunities, please visit this link where you can find a brief article from Mick, a current Licensed B2 SR, on what life is like as an SR at AirTanker Sponsored Reservists | AirTanker Careers (pinpointhq.com)

Next Steps
