We’re looking for a Part 145 Expeditor to join our Base Maintenance team at The Hub. This role is key to ensuring that the right materials are available at the right time to support both Base and Line Maintenance activities, enabling maintenance tasks to be completed safely, efficiently and in line with Part 145 requirements.
Why AirTanker? AirTanker is a vital part of the UK’s defence capability, delivering air-to-air refuelling and air transport services to the RAF and MOD. We operate at the intersection of military precision and commercial innovation. As a Part 145 Expeditor, you will play a key role in supporting safe, compliant and efficient maintenance operations. By coordinating the availability, pre‑loading and return of materials for Base and Line Maintenance, and working closely with Engineering, Planning and Logistics teams, you will directly contribute to maintenance readiness, regulatory compliance and overall operational performance.
What's in it for you?
- Operational Impact: Play a visible, hands‑on role in keeping maintenance activities running smoothly by ensuring materials are available, accurately controlled and returned compliantly — directly supporting aircraft availability and delivery.
- Ownership & Responsibility: Take end‑to‑end ownership of material coordination activities, offering autonomy and the opportunity to make a real difference to daily maintenance outcomes.
- Collaboration & Visibility: Work closely with Engineering, Planning and Logistics teams across Base and Line Maintenance, giving you strong cross‑functional exposure and the opportunity to build trusted working relationships in a safety‑critical operational environment.
- Comprehensive Benefits: Including private medical insurance, bonus scheme, EV scheme, contributory pension, and more.
- Adventure & Belonging: Battlefield tours, adventure training, and family fun days.
What you'll be doing:
- Coordinate and facilitate the pre‑loading of materials for planned Base and Line Maintenance activities.
- Organise workpack pre‑loads into cages by work zone and task number.
- Collect, sort and deliver spares from Logistics to Base Maintenance zonal work areas.
- Manage daily material deliveries and priorities in line with the maintenance plan.
- Liaise with Production Planners, Check Delivery Engineers and Engineering teams to support component transactions using maintenance IT systems (e.g. Envision).
- Sort and return unused parts from completed maintenance tasks in line with procedures.
- Ensure all returned components are correctly labelled and documented.
- Maintain adequate stock levels of labels and consumables used by maintenance teams.
- Promote and uphold safety, quality and environmental standards in line with company SMS and policies.
- Carry out additional duties appropriate to the role as required.
What you'll bring:
- Experience working within an aviation Maintenance Organisation (Part 145 environment desirable).
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines in a safety‑critical environment.
- A strong safety‑first mindset and commitment to quality.
- A proactive, ownership‑driven approach to your work.
