The client wants a senior pensions data specialist who can run complex DB pension projects end-to-end, especially system upgrades and data migrations. The key is deep experience with pension admin platforms (ideally Compendia), strong data handling, and the ability to fix/optimise large, messy datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver end-to-end pension projects, including system upgrades, data migrations, and process improvements
- Oversee and enhance pension administration platforms (e.g. Compendia) ensuring data integrity and performance
- Manage relationships with third-party IT vendors, internal IT teams, and data governance stakeholders
- Lead data-focused activities such as actuarial valuation extracts, GMP equalisation, and pension dashboards
- Ensure compliance with UK pension legislation, reporting requirements, and governance standards
- Analyse large datasets, improving data quality, validation processes, and reporting accuracy
- Support cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong experience in UK defined benefit pensions
- Proven background in pension administration systems (e.g. Compendia or similar platforms)
- Expertise in data management, data quality, and large dataset handling
- Knowledge of pensions legislation and regulatory compliance
- Experience delivering IT system upgrades or transformation projects
Nice-to-Have:
- PMI, CPC or equivalent pension qualifications
- Experience with data governance frameworks or information risk management (IRM)
- Exposure to pension dashboards or digital transformation initiatives
- Stakeholder management across IT, vendors, and finance teams
