This position is with a major affiliate operating within the Oil & Gas sector in Iraq. The role involves technical leadership across instrumentation, control systems, and telecommunications disciplines on a large-scale upstream central processing facility project (AGUP Phase 2 – CPF2). The job is based in Leatherhead with periodic travel to project sites.

This Lead Instrument & ICSS Engineer role supports a major central processing facility development.

The Lead Instrument & ICSS Engineer will provide technical leadership and coordination across instrumentation, integrated control and safety systems, and telecommunications engineering disciplines. This position requires ownership of engineering compliance, value-engineering initiatives, and participation in technical safety activities including HAZOP and SIL workshops throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead instrumentation and ICSS engineering activities across FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure engineering compliance with international codes and standards for instruments, ICSS, and telecom systems.
  • Drive value-engineering initiatives and technical safety processes including HAZOP and SIL workshops.
  • Coordinate across multiple engineering disciplines and lead technical teams in multicultural environments.
  • Maintain strong leadership in HSE matters and promote safety culture across the project.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years in ICSS/Instrumentation engineering within Oil & Gas projects.
  • At least 10 years in similar roles on medium-to-large-scale upstream projects.
  • Experience across all project phases: FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
  • Deep knowledge of international codes and standards for instruments, ICSS, and telecom.
  • Strong understanding of engineering compliance, value engineering, and technical safety methodologies.
  • Engineering degree.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and coordinate across disciplines in multicultural environments.
  • Availability for missions to Iraq (approximately 15 days per year), with first mission expected in January 2026.
