Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Lead Workface Planner to support the successful delivery of a major industrial project in Padeswood. This role will be responsible for leading the implementation of Workface Planning (WFP) processes, ensuring Installation Work Packages (IWPs) are developed and executed efficiently to maximise construction productivity. Working closely with engineering, construction, and subcontractor teams, you will play a key role in driving project performance, removing execution constraints, and supporting safe and efficient field delivery.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of Workface Planning processes in line with project requirements
- Train, mentor, and support subcontractor Workface Planning teams in the use of WFP methodologies and O3 software
- Ensure detailed planning processes are in place to identify and remove site constraints prior to execution
- Oversee the development and management of Installation Work Packages (IWPs) from Construction Work Packages (CWPs)
- Ensure all labour, materials, equipment, and documentation requirements are available prior to field release
- Utilise the O3 Workface Planning tool to improve productivity, safety, and execution efficiency
- Coordinate with project schedulers, engineers, superintendents, and construction teams to ensure alignment across project activities
- Monitor IWP development and execution, ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to project requirements
- Track workface planning performance and implement corrective actions where required
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and conduct lessons learned reviews to optimise future delivery
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ construction experience, with a strong focus on construction planning and field execution
- At least 2 years’ experience in a lead or supervisory Workface Planning role
- Strong knowledge of Workface Planning methodologies and construction execution processes
- Experience developing and managing Installation Work Packages (IWPs)
- Proficiency with O3 Workface Planning software or similar WFP platforms
- Knowledge of earned value management, material management, document control, and project reporting systems
- Gold or academic CSCS card is required for this role to work on site
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, productivity, and field operations
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience coordinating multiple contractors and multidisciplinary project teams
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
- Relevant construction planning or safety certifications are advantageous
