Airswift has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Piping Engineer to join one of our clients on a 12-month+ contract. This is a hybrid role with a requirement to be in the Aberdeen office 3 days a week.
The Lead Piping Engineer is responsible for the technical and commercial execution of the design and requisitioning in accordance with the project schedule and control estimate, as part of the project design team.
Role & Responsibilities
- Advise the Department Manager of personnel requirements to maintain the project plan.
- Monitor and control manhour budgets against the project plan.
- Review vendor bids and documentation for technical acceptability.
- Provide technical assistance to the design team.
- Maintain supervision that encourages empowerment and responsiveness in design, procurement, and construction.
- Work collaboratively across disciplines and locations to ensure project success.
Skills / Qualifications
- Experience in Plant Layout, Piping Design, and Piping Engineering within an EPC/EPCm environment.
- Extensive offshore experience.
- Commercial awareness in a professional services context.
- Knowledge of UK, European, and international standards (ASME/ASTM).
- Leadership experience on Petrochem and/or Pharmaceutical EPC/EPCm projects.
- Piping materials expertise, including specifications and valves.
- Proficiency in E3D/PDMS software.
- Mechanical Engineering Degree.
