Role Overview
As an On-site Data Modeler, you will translate complex reinsurance data into robust, scalable models that power our pricing and actuarial systems. You’ll collaborate with actuaries, underwriters and project teams to ensure data quality, governance and business intelligence (BI) insights are delivered to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Modelling & Schema Design: Support the Data Architect in defining logical and physical models, ensuring alignment with MVP user stories and solution design.
- Requirements Capture: Run workshops with stakeholders to elicit and document detailed data requirements, mapping attributes to our data warehouse and downstream systems.
- BI Analysis: Leverage business intelligence tools to interpret complex data sets, produce dashboards and drive actionable insights.
- SQL Development: Write and optimise complex Microsoft SQL Server queries for data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL).
- Data Governance: Implement master data management and governance policies to maintain data quality, compliance and lineage.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with project managers and cross-functional teams, ensuring transparency on deliverables and timelines.
Candidate Profile
- Proven pricing and actuarial data experience, preferably in reinsurance.
- Solid background in the insurance/reinsurance sector and familiarity with reinsurance pricing projects.
- Expert in SQL (Microsoft SQL Server) and strong Excel/VBA capabilities.
- Exceptional data analysis skills, with a keen eye for data quality and governance best practices.
- Demonstrable experience in Business Analysis, Requirements Analysis and Data Modeling.
- Excellent problem-solving mindset and clear, persuasive communication style.
