Civil Engineer will work closely with the client to deliver high-quality technical support across both nuclear and non-nuclear facilities within a dockyard environment. This includes involvement in refurbishment and renovation works, new construction, and ensuring compliance with listed building requirements. The role will support the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical advice on construction-related matters across a range of projects
  • Contribute to project delivery throughout various stages of the RIBA lifecycle
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, including clients, design teams, and project partners
  • Liaise with statutory authorities to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Plan and coordinate site and ground investigations, undertake condition surveys, and interpret findings to produce reports and remediation strategies
  • Support modifications to existing structures, including listed buildings
  • Assist in the design of small-scale new structures and temporary works

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience within highly regulated industries such as nuclear, maritime, infrastructure, or oil & gas
  • Proven experience delivering projects across RIBA Stages 3–5
  • Strong working knowledge of Revit or equivalent BIM software, with experience delivering to BIM Level 2 standards
  • Proficient in the production and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications

Desirable:

  • Experience within nuclear or other safety-critical environments
  • Background in dockyard or marine
  • Familiarity with earlier RIBA stages
  • Understanding of commercial and industrial project environments
  • Experience delivering projects in line with environmental regulations
