Project and Role:

The Papua LNG Project is a major petroleum investment in Papua New Guinea. It is a combined onshore and offshore development project comprising:

  • Well pads and the upstream gathering network including flowlines and two parallel multiphase trunklines
  • Upstream Central Processing Facility (CPF), approximately 30 kms from the field
  • Main onshore and offshore export system consisting of a single-phase gas pipeline and a condensate pipeline
  • Integration in existing liquefaction plant located 325 km from the CPF in the vicinity of Port-Moresby

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Papua LNG Civil-Structural team in Contractor's offices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise within Civil-Structural discipline, including seismic aspects, whilst ensuring compliance with Legislative requirements.
  • Supervise the civil and structure related activities performed by FEED and EPSCCs Contractors (mainly for the Early works, CPF-Wellpads Package and Pipelines Packages).
  • Proactively highlight/report critical issues and propose remedial actions whenever possible.
  • Timely review and comment engineering documents related to civil and structure deliverable; in liaison with other Company Project team specialists as required (e.g. project philosophies).
  • Ensure that the engineering activities related to civil, structure and seismic matters are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (PNGS calling Australian/New Zealand standards apply), Project requirements and contextualized Company General Specifications within the agreed project schedule and budget.
  • Maintain high level of quality and high HSE Standards, especially with respect to the Project highly sensitive environment.
  • Maintain regular communication between the Company’s and Contractor’s Civil-Structural teams.
  • Be proactive and prevent Contractors stand-by/delays by prompt response to engineering queries and unexpected technical issues.
  • When appropriate challenge the contractors to optimize cost and schedule by proposing alternative design solutions, particularly with regards to modularization philosophy.
  • Assist as requested with formalizing derogation requests against contextualized GS-EP-CIV and GS EP STR.
  • Support preparation for and participate in Project reviews.
  • Provide answers and ensure timely implementation of the findings in his discipline.
  • Provide support in his/her field of expertise to compare and evaluate the CPF-Wellpads FEED Contractors during the FEED competition phase(s).
  • Develop positive and constructive relationships with contractors and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contractor/supplier performance, reduce costs and improve the quality of services/products supplied.

Qualifications:

  • Engineer. English is mandatory
