Overview: This position is for an experienced professional to join a global EPC contractor delivering solutions for the energy transition. The role is focused on providing contract management and quantity surveying expertise, specifically for Mechanical Ductwork, Electrical, and Instrumentation work packages. This position supports full asset lifecycle consulting and next-generation project delivery, with significant responsibility for pre- and post-contract processes within complex engineering environments.
Responsibilities:
- Quality Leadership & Strategy: Prepare and negotiate Non-Disclosure/Confidentiality Agreements for project activities. Compile documentation and solicit Expressions of Interest from potential contractors. Undertake all aspects of contractor prequalification, coordinating technical requirements.
- Quality Compliance & Oversight: Compile Request for Information, Request for Proposal, and Invitation to Tender/Bid documentation including evaluation plans. Administer contracting strategy papers and bid clarification meetings, ensuring thorough recording and distribution of minutes. Manage contractual deliverables and oversee contractor compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Execution Support: Participate in pre-construction kick-off meetings and maintain all contractor correspondence. Provide contractual interpretation for project teams, liaising with supervision on Management and overseeing of Technical Queries, Non-Conformance Reports, and concessions. Administrate site instructions, contractor change registers, and securities such as Bonds, Performance Guarantees, and Insurances.
- Reporting & Performance Management: Report on the progress and status of contracting activities using prescribed reporting systems (e.g., CRM, MS Excel, MS Word). Lead and coordinate the Contractor Performance Evaluation process and risk review meetings. Perform final accounting, contract close-out, and ensure effective archiving and handover of documentation.
- Training & Continuous Improvement: Review and mentor other Contracts Team members, facilitating knowledge transfer and skills development. Identify and implement improvements to contract work practices and documentation processes. Ensure compliance with HSE standards, contributing to a culture of safety and integrity in all project activities.
Qualifications & Experience: Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering, or a relevant subject is preferred. Significant experience managing pre-contract and post-award processes, including high-value and complex engineering construction works. At least five years’ relevant working experience in the industrial engineering sector (e.g., mid-stream/upstream oil & gas, chemical, process plant).
Key Competencies: Strong understanding of contract law, contractual risk, and published standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, IChemE, LOGIC, NEC). Advanced communication and negotiation skills effective in a complex and dynamic environment. Proficient in software and reporting tools including CRM systems, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook, and MS Teams.
