Renewable Heating Service Engineer | Field Based (Basingstoke / Guildford / Reading) | £40,000–£45,000 DOE + Van + Bonus + Benefits Ready to solve the problems other engineers can't? AirSourced is looking for an experienced Renewable Heating Service Engineer to join our technical team, with a particular focus on air source heat pumps. This is much more than a routine service role. You'll be diagnosing complex faults, investigating underperforming systems, reviewing system design and finding practical ways to improve performance, efficiency and reliability. If you enjoy getting to the root of a problem and understanding why a system isn't working as it should, this could be the role for you. The Renewable Heating Service Engineer Role Servicing, commissioning and maintaining air source heat pump systems Diagnosing complex heating, hot water, controls and heat pump faults Identifying issues with installation, design, commissioning and controls Optimising systems for performance and efficiency Carrying out plumbing, heating and remedial works Reviewing flow rates, temperatures, pressures and hydraulic performance Configuring and troubleshooting weather compensation and advanced controls Carrying out technical audits and system assessments Producing clear technical reports and remedial recommendations Working with clients, manufacturers and contractors to resolve technical issues Supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers You'll also assess heat loss, heat pump sizing, emitter outputs, pipe sizing and hydraulic arrangements, ensuring existing installations meet performance requirements and relevant MCS, Building Regulations and manufacturer standards. About You You'll have at least 5 years' experience in renewable heating, ideally with significant air source heat pump experience. We're looking for someone with: Strong heat pump servicing, commissioning and fault-finding experience Excellent knowledge of hydronic heating systems and controls Experience with multiple heat pump manufacturers Experience carrying out or reviewing heat loss calculations Good understanding of emitter sizing, flow rates, pipe sizing and system design Knowledge of weather compensation, zoning, buffers and volumisers Working knowledge of MCS requirements and Building Regulations A logical and methodical approach to fault finding The confidence to support less experienced engineers A full UK driving licence Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Plumbing & Heating, Level 3 Air Source Heat Pump, G3, F-Gas or electrical qualifications are beneficial, although additional training can be provided.
