Finance Assistant - The Role:
As Finance Assistant, you'll be the backbone of our day-to-day operations, spanning finance, credit control, and office management. This is a varied, fast-paced role that touches almost every part of the business. You'll take genuine ownership of credit control, manage customer accounts, support the sales team, oversee office supplies and systems, and actively use AI tools to work smarter and faster. You don't need years of experience but you do need to be someone who spots what needs doing before being asked and thrives on variety.
Finance Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of credit control, chasing overdue accounts daily and escalating aged debt appropriately
- Manage customer direct debits and payment accounts, reconciling discrepancies and flagging issues promptly
- Monitor the Accounts email inbox and respond to queries in a timely manner
- Log and process client contracts, update customer statuses, and support management reporting
- Order and manage office supplies, maintain internal filing systems, and oversee holiday and absence records
- Support the Sales Team with administrative duties and contract queries
- Actively seek out and apply AI tools to automate repetitive tasks and improve efficiency
Finance Assistant - You:
- Detail-oriented with a natural affinity for systems, spreadsheets, and processes
- Experienced in credit control, debt chasing, or accounts receivable with strong daily follow-up skills
- Clear communicator with excellent spelling, grammar, and confidence speaking to clients and teams
- Tech-savvy and highly proficient in Excel or Google Sheets with experience using project management tools
- Problem solver who investigates and fixes issues rather than just flagging them
- Adaptable and comfortable juggling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- AI-curious and proactive - you explore new tools and find smarter ways to work
