Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Job Borer / Jig Borer Operator to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience operating job boring machinery, producing precision-engineered components to meet specific customer requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating and monitoring machinery, ensuring components are manufactured accurately and to a high standard.

Main Duties

• Set and operate job boring / jig boring machinery.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

• Machine large and complex components to precise measurements and tolerances.

• Select and change appropriate cutting tools.

• Set machine speeds, feeds and cutting depths.

• Carry out quality checks using precision measuring equipment.

• Identify and report any machining or quality issues.

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

• Work to production deadlines whilst maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating job boring or jig boring machinery.

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Good understanding of machining processes and engineering tolerances.

• Experience using precision measuring equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious.
