From the moment a customer arrives on site to the moment they return from their trip, our frontline teams play a vital role in creating a smooth, stress-free experience. We are looking for a Shift Manager to lead operational shifts at our car park in Luton. This role is central to the day-to-day running of our sites, ensuring our people, vehicles and customers are looked after safely, efficiently and with care.

As a Shift Manager, you will lead from the front, setting the standard for service, safety and teamwork while keeping operations moving in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

The Role

  • Lead, motivate and support operational teams on shift, including customer-facing colleagues like PCV Drivers and Site Operatives.
  • Take full responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring services operate safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Deliver excellent customer experiences, resolving issues and complaints with confidence and care.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, security and vehicle regulations, including passenger carrying vehicles.
  • Manage resources on shift, including staffing levels, equipment, vehicles and site operations, in line with budgets and demand.
  • Oversee handovers between shifts, ensuring clear communication and continuity.
  • Support the training, coaching and development of team members, helping people grow and succeed in their roles.
  • Step up to cover wider site responsibilities when required, supporting senior leadership and contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Have a real impact on customer satisfaction, team engagement and the overall performance of the site.

What you can bring to our team

  • Experience leading or supervising teams in an operational, customer-facing environment.
  • Confidence making decisions, prioritising work and managing people in a fast-moving setting.
  • A strong focus on customer service, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • A commitment to health and safety, with an understanding of working to procedures and regulations.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to lead by example.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
  • A full UK driving licence with no points.
  • Experience in transport, logistics or regulated environments is helpful but not essential.

Hours: Airparks is a 24/7 operational environment, so we welcome candidates who can work shifts to meet the needs of our customers. This will include weekends and evenings. On a full-time basis, you would work 42 hours per week, being scheduled for shifts across our 24/7 operating hours. You’ll work on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, which can be made up of day and night shifts.
