  • Job Summary

The main objective of this position is to provide safe, efficient, prompt, and courteous pick-up and delivery service for gases, while promoting ALC’s quality and safety objectives.

You will load your own cylinders, plan out your day based on dispatched orders, drive to required sites, pick up empties, then offload trucks upon return.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles (e. g., flatbeds, cylinder trucks) in a safe and compliant manner, aligning with all company policies, DOT regulations, and provincial traffic laws.
  • Load and unload cylinders, cryogenic tanks, and other gas products at customer sites and company facilities, utilizing appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, confirming all safety and mechanical components are in good working order.
  • Maintain positive customer relationships, providing excellent service and addressing any delivery-related inquiries or needs professionally.
  • Champion all safety protocols, including the proper handling of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency procedures.

  • Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma
  • Valid Class 3 or DZ driver's license with a clean driver's abstract and CVOR - please attach a current DA and CVOR abstract (dated within the last 30 days) to your application.
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles, preferably in a pick-up and delivery capacity.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations (DOT, provincial HOS).
  • Must be able to lifts 50 lbs comfortably
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for pre-trip inspections and minor vehicle checks.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Welding knowledge/experience/education is a strong asset
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement is an asset.
